Wrocław Christmas Market is one of the most recognizable winter events in Poland. In 2025, it will open on November 21 and run until January 7, 2026, covering both New Year’s Eve and the Feast of the Epiphany. It will be the 16th edition of the market, transforming the capital of Lower Silesia into a true festive wonderland filled with colourful stalls, aromatic dishes, dazzling lights, and attractions for both children and adults.

Market location

The market covers the entire heart of Wrocław’s Old Town. Strolling among the stalls, visitors can admire the Christmas lights, the Gothic Town Hall, and the colourful tenement houses. In 2025, the market will span four main areas:

  • Rynek (Main Square) – all sides: north, south, east, and west,
  • Świdnicka Street – from the Market Square towards the Opera House, including the underground passage,
  • Oławska Street – from the Market Square to Szewska Street, featuring a new light gate,
  • Plac Solny (Salt Square) – with fairy-tale chalets and a dedicated food zone.

💡 Tip: The easiest entry during rush hours is from Oławska Street – it’s less crowded, and photos by the gate come out beautifully.

Opening hours and closing days

Market and food stalls are open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Keep in mind a few exceptions:

Date Opening hours
December 24 (Christmas Eve) closed
December 25 (Christmas Day) closed
December 26 (Boxing Day) from 1 p.m.
December 31 (New Year’s Eve) stalls until 5 p.m., food zone until 2 a.m.
January 1 (New Year’s Day) closed

🕯️ Good to know: Right after opening (around 10–11 a.m.) the market is almost empty – perfect for a peaceful walk, photos, and buying a souvenir mug without waiting in line.

What’s new in 2025/2026

This year’s edition introduces several updates and new attractions:

  • Dwarf and Reindeer Land – a new zone with Rudolf the giant reindeer and Santa’s sleigh.
  • New Christmas Gate on Oławska Street – 5.5 m high and 8 m wide, visible already from Dominikański Square.
  • Fairy Forest with moving figures, light effects, and a viewing terrace over the Market Square.
  • Elf Land on Plac Solny – children’s workshops and fun activities.
  • Photo Chalets on the western side – brand-new backgrounds for holiday photos.
  • Gnome Prezentuś – appears only in December; legend says your wish comes true after you touch his hat three times.

🎁 Mini-tip: Find Prezentuś early in the morning or late at night – it’s much easier to get a photo without the crowd.

Map and stall numbers

The official market website offers an interactive map with stall numbers and categories, making it easy to plan your route and locate your favourite food or craft stands. In 2025, there will be over 200 chalets from Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Italy.

Payments and mug deposit

Most vendors accept cards and mobile payments (BLIK or contactless), but cash is still useful – especially at small craft booths. The deposit for a ceramic souvenir mug is around 20 PLN. You can return it at designated points or keep it as a souvenir – each year’s edition has its own colour and design.

💰 Tip: Mug return points are located by the main entrances – return them there to avoid queues at closing time.
