WROCŁAW / ICE SKATING / 2026–2027
Find your
winter rhythm.
Five rinks. Your kind of skating.
Choose a rink and work out the full cost.
Wrocław’s ice rinks open seasonally. Compare Spiska, Orbita, Nowy Dwór, Tarczyński Arena and the school rink at LO XIV on Brücknera. Find the right setting, check skate hire and plan your budget before you set off.
Tarczyński Arena has announced its return, but has not yet released an opening date or prices. Opening dates for the other four rinks are also unconfirmed here. Call the venue before travelling; the previous season’s prices below are a budgeting guide.
01 / FIND YOUR RINK
Which Wrocław ice rink suits you?
The filters compare facilities and the type of skating. They do not show whether a rink is open today.
5 rinks to compare
Spiska
Spiska 1, Wrocław
2026/27 opening date not confirmed
The largest ice surface in this guide
With a covered ice surface measuring 60 × 30 m, Spiska offers the most space of the rinks listed here. Skate hire covers EU sizes 26–50, with helmets and skating aids available too. A useful starting point if space to practise is your priority.
What should I plan around?
Last season’s weekday resurfacing break was 19:00–20:00. Arriving just before a break could leave you with much less skating time than you expected from an hour’s ticket.
Orbita
Wejherowska 34, Wrocław
2026/27 opening date not confirmed
A smaller rink under cover
Orbita’s indoor rink measures 30 × 20 m. There is skate hire in EU sizes 26–50, sharpening and equipment for beginners. A smaller space can be easier for a parent to keep track of, but it does not necessarily mean fewer people.
What should I plan around?
The previous timetable had a weekend break from 16:00 to 17:00. Lessons may take up part of the day, so check that your chosen time is a public skating session.
Nowy Dwór
Jaksonowicka 28, Wrocław
Ice rink temporarily closed
Older listings may call it Sukielicka
This roofed, open-sided hall is used for ice skating in winter and roller skating in the warmer months. Enter Jaksonowicka 28in your navigation app; Sukielicka still appears in some older links.
What should I plan around?
Mondays were reserved for schools and clubs. The old Saturday ice disco, 20:00–22:00, is not a confirmed event for the coming season.
Tarczyński Arena
al. Śląska 1, Wrocław
2026/27 season announced · date to follow
An oval track in the stadium car park
The rink is on the second floor of the multi-storey car park, marked “2. piętro”. Its oval track has a 55 m straight and is about 7 m wide. Skate hire covers EU sizes 28–48, with equipment for young beginners too. Expect a different skating rhythm from a rectangular rink.
What should I plan around?
Pedestrians enter from the esplanade; drivers use Gate D from al. Śląska. Parking is charged separately. Prices for the new skating season have not yet been released.
LO XIV · Brücknera school rink
al. Brücknera 10, Wrocław
Closed since 21 March 2026
A shorter session rather than a full hour
This covered 20 × 30 m rink holds up to 50 people. Buy tickets at the school swimming pool’s ticket office. There is skate hire and sharpening on site; a standard session in the last price list was 50 minutes.
What should I plan around?
Children under seven must be with a parent or guardian. Gloves and a hat are compulsory. The PLN 13 ticket covered only 30 minutes, at specified times.
The filters need JavaScript. All five rink cards remain available below.
02 / PLAN THE WHOLE COST
How much does ice skating cost?
Compare admission + equipment + session length. Last season, an adult at Spartan paid PLN 43 on weekdays or PLN 49 at weekends for an hour including hired skates. At LO XIV, admission and skate hire came to PLN 43 for 50 minutes, with a helmet costing another PLN 6. All amounts are in Polish złoty (PLN).

03 / DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
Opening dates, winter holidays and ice events
Opening dates for public skating in the 2026/27 season are not yet confirmed in this guide. Tarczyński Arena’s announcement does not mean tickets are on sale. Spiska and Orbita still display old timetables, Nowy Dwór is marked temporarily closed, and LO XIV finished its previous season on 21 March.
The new season has been announced. Opening date, hours and prices are still to be confirmed.
These are the local Polish school holiday dates, which may differ from half-term where you live. Rink holiday timetables, courses and promotions need separate confirmation.
Nowy Dwór previously held Saturday ice discos. That series, and Spiska’s late Monday fast-skating sessions, should not be treated as 2026/27 events without a fresh announcement.
For Christmas, New Year and school holidays, check the timetable for the exact date. Ordinary weekend hours may not apply on 24 December or 1 January. For ideas beyond skating, see our Wrocław winter guide (in Polish).
04 / BEFORE YOU SET OFF
Tickets, opening times and resurfacing breaks
Confirm a public skating session before buying a ticket. School bookings, club training and lessons are not public sessions. Use the phone number on each rink card to check admission, resurfacing breaks, equipment and sports-card rules.
- Choose a date and arrival time. Ask when the next resurfacing break begins and whether there is a capacity limit.
- Check tickets with the venue. Spartan has an online booking area, but availability for the new season needs confirmation. LO XIV sells tickets at the swimming pool’s ticket office. Tarczyński Arena has not yet published its new prices.
- Allow time to get changed. Spiska and Orbita timed visits from collecting a chip or key to returning it. Spartan charged 1/60 of the ticket price for each extra minute; its family rate was the exception, with no extra-time charge.
- Check concessions and sports cards. MultiSport, Medicover and similar schemes do not automatically include free skate hire or cover extra time. Bring evidence of any concession you wish to claim.
Venue timetables and the booking link are in the expandable sources and venue links section. Use “Get directions” on the rink card for your route. For local bus and tram tickets, see our public transport guide (in Polish).
05 / YOUR FIRST TIME ON THE ICE
With children, on a date or learning to skate?
With children: start with fit and a gentle pace
Check hire sizes before choosing a rink: Spiska and Orbita start at EU 26, the stadium at EU 28. Bring gloves, comfortable socks and layers. Make sure skates and helmets fit properly; oversized skates make control harder. Add a skating aid to your budget if you need one.
Leave time to change and get used to the ice. Avoid a tight connection to your next booking. Starting after resurfacing is often more useful than choosing the cheapest ticket near the end of a session.
For a date: choose the pace first
A large rectangular rink and an oval track feel different. If one of you is new to skating, choose a session that allows gentle practice. Allow time afterwards to return equipment, change and travel before booking the next activity.
For lessons: check what the price includes
Spartan offers individual lessons and courses. Agree the date, level and group size, and ask whether admission and equipment are included. Previously, individual instruction cost PLN 130/hour for one person or PLN 195/hour for two. New dates and terms need confirmation.
06 / TAKE YOUR PLAN WITH YOU
Your skating trip plan
Fill in the date once opening has been confirmed. Download a text file, or print and save it as a PDF. Your entries stay in this browser page; they are not sent to our server.
Bring gloves, socks, a helmet and proof of any concession. Check the resurfacing break and when equipment must be returned.
07 / QUICK ANSWERS
Ice skating in Wrocław: frequently asked questions
Have the rinks opened for 2026/27 yet?
An opening date for the new season has not yet been confirmed here. Tarczyński Arena has announced its return without a date. A timetable left online from last winter is not proof that you can skate today.
Which rink has the largest ice surface?
Spiska has the largest rectangular surface in this guide: 60 × 30 m. Orbita measures 30 × 20 m and LO XIV 20 × 30 m.
Can I hire skates and a helmet?
The venues listed have hire facilities. Prices, sizes and availability vary. Previously, Spartan charged PLN 15/hour for skates with a helmet; LO XIV charged PLN 16 for skates and PLN 6 for a helmet per 50-minute session.
Is there a permanent rink in Market Square?
Rynek, Wrocław’s Market Square, is not listed here as a regular rink for 2026/27. Any temporary installation needs its own confirmed dates. Do not travel to the centre assuming there will be ice skating there.
Does a covered rink stay open all year?
A roof does not mean year-round ice or a heated hall. These rinks are seasonal; Nowy Dwór’s hall switches to roller skating outside winter.
How do I find the cheapest option?
Compare your whole group’s cost and the session length in the calculator. A family rate may beat individual tickets, but a cheap 30-minute ticket is not equivalent to an hour. Check the new prices before paying.
