What is open in winter?
Indoor pavilions remain open, including Afrykarium and exhibits featuring tropical species. Many animals stay in heated enclosures, where they can be observed regardless of outdoor temperatures.
Species adapted to colder climates are often active in their outdoor enclosures as well.
Are all exhibits available?
Some outdoor areas may be temporarily closed during severe frost or adverse weather conditions. In such cases, most of the visit takes place inside covered pavilions.
How should you prepare?
Dressing in layers is recommended, as the route includes both outdoor paths and heated indoor spaces. In snowy or icy conditions, sturdy footwear with good grip is advisable.
When is it least crowded?
Weekdays outside school winter holidays are usually the quietest. Weekends and holiday periods can attract more visitors, but overall attendance is typically lower than in summer.
